Thinking back to my childhood our family had such a great time outdoors both in the summer and the winter. Winter in Minnesota brings back such fond memories from sledding and skating at local parks. We knew the fastest hils in town and would meet up with our friends to make a fun afternoon outdoors. I lived on a lake so spent a lot of the time right out on the rink on the lake that we would maintain. We always joked that the lake was filled with the many hockey pucks that got lost in the snow. Mom would always make hot cocoa and have chocolate chip cookies ready to help us warm up after we got our outdoor gear off.
Here is a list of each of our communites with the parks that offer skating and sledding and their ammenities. Be sure to check out the websites to ensure the park is open prior to heading out.

- Trapp Farm Park Tubing Hill (Closed now but check back for open dates, reservations will be required)
- Visitor Center Trailhead, Lebanon Hills Regional Park, 860 Cliff Road, Eagan, MN 55123 (Driving directions) This is a great hill for famlies with small children. The hill is near the Lebanon Visitors Center.
Farmington

- Whitetail Woods Regional Park - 17100 Station Trail, Farmington, MN 55024 (Driving directions) You can find this larger hill next to the Empire Lake Picnic Shelter. There are heated bathrooms and a firepit available but you need to read the Firewood restrictions. (Bring your own firewood.)
