Things to do in August

By Jodi Lorence, Macaroni Kid Publisher July 29, 2024

August! I love it and I hate it. I love it because there is so many fun events in August but I hate it because that means it is almost the end of summer and the kids are going back to school. It is bittersweet to me so we all have to cherish what is left and soak up what is left of the summer Minnesota weather.

Here are some ideas you can do this August:

1. Go to a drive-in movie with your family.

2. Visit a Local Farmer's Market.

3. Attend a Festival or Fair.

4. Visit Valleyfair and Soak City. Two great locations for one price!

5. Support our local Farmers Markets.

6. Visit the Renaissance Festival!

7. Attend a Local Puppet Show.

8. Start a new hobby? Take a class at Muddy Waters Studio in Farmington and Color Me Mine Eagan!

9. Check out all our guides when planning a summer outing.

10. Looking for Summer tutoring? Check out Sylvan Learning Center of Rosemount-Eagan.

11. Check our Events Calendar.

12. Of course we can't forget the Minnesota State Fair!
